TENDER OF THE WEEK

Design services for golf course

Tenders.Net Ref.#: 704543

Tender Details: RIA00112 - Design Services for Rottnest Island Golf Course
The Rottnest Island Authority (RIA) is embarking on an upgrade of the Golf Course involving grassing and reticulating the fairways and reconstructing and grassing the greens. This work is expected to commence mid 2012 and be completed by the end of 2012.
The RIA is seeking the services of an experienced landscape/golf course design company and/or consultant to undertake the required Statement of Requirements as per the Specification.
The Rottnest Island Golf Course is sound and challenging requiring very few changes to improve the layout with the purpose of the course to enable visitors to the Island to have an easy and enjoyable golf experience. The current course is at its best in winter and the early parts of autumn and spring but in summer the course is in poor condition due to lack of irrigation and rain. The Island has its peak visitation during summer therefore the irrigation of the fairways and greens shall increase usage of the course and improve visitor amenities.
The proposed golf course development includes the installation of nine grass greens on the location of the current sand greens and the reticulation of the fairways and greens via treated waste water accessed from the nearby waste water treatment plant. The RIA is seeking to engage a consultant to primarily assist with the redesigning of the greens and associated costs.
The Golf Course site includes a registered Aboriginal heritage site on Hole 9 and there are other registered Aboriginal sites in the vicinity of the course. These sites will be identified to the successful respondent at the initial project briefing meeting but must be taken into consideration throughout the design process.
The RIA reserves the right to accept all or part thereof of the Specification.
